George married Lydia Mary Stubbs in 1934, they had one child
She re-married in May 1944 to Gerald Talbot Smith
George married Margaret A Hindle in August 1946
George must have been a brilliant engineer and when you look at his travels.
He travelled by ship to USA via Canada in September 1942 as Technical Advisor for ( Jack Olding & Co.) The company were importing tanks and tractors for the war effort.
Imported American-built Sherman and Grant tanks, and Canadian-built Ram tanks. Work was also carried out on British-built Churchill tanks.
Jack Olding & Company also played a key role on the home front – Caterpillar and John Deere tractors and other farming equipment helped feed Britain, Also, at a time when labour was in short supply, it enabled women of the Land Army to take over and release more men for frontline roles.

George travelled again to USA in 1946, 1947 & 1950 as a Co. Director for Jack Olding & Co. Ltd
In 1958 he travelled to Brazil still with the Olding company (see photo below)
He died at the young age of 54 in September 1960
Stuffed 582 lb Tuna donated to Hancock Museum in 1960
Rod and reel donated to Hancock Museum in 1971 by his wife
